BACKGROUND & THANKS:
I started my research at Christmas 2000, initially I was going to concentrate on the PADWICK Family Line as I thought there wouldn't be many of us around, but research has shown me that I was wrong, there are lots of Padwick's around and many that I had no idea about. I started by asking my living relatives that I did know and was able to fill in many of the more recent generations that I had no knowledge of. The tree started to branch out sideways so I started using the internet to see if I could work my way backwards. I found the census records a great help and the tree started getting taller. I checked out the details I'd discovered via the census records with my living relatives which seemed to jog some of their memories and they confirmed the details in most cases. I then purchased birth, marriage and death certificates to help prove links to people I wasn't 100% sure on. I registered with a few websites where you can upload a GEDCOM of your family tree so that others could see if they too had the same people in their tree's and have discovered a few new branches to the tree this way.
I got as far back as the internet would allow me (records only started in 1837 and the first online available census is 1841) on the Padwick side and started to wonder about the maternal lines to all these branches so have recently started to investigate further into these lines. This has also allowed me to get in touch with relatives and add new branches to the ever growing tree.

The following newly found family members have helped fill in many missing gaps in information and have provided many of the details:

  • PADWICK - Lynn M, Christine M, Debbie D, John and Liza C, Karen (Visit Karen's website), Denise M and Kathy H
  • BROWN - Chris B
